As a Director, I had a chance to try it earlier! I brought it to my parents’ house which was exciting because they had a chance to try it as well. I haven’t seen them for 10 months due to covid! One thing we found interesting is the other kinds of Pina Colada on the market were lower priced and you didn’t have to add the pineapple. BUT they were full of extras of things you didn’t need.
You can use canned pineapple but I happen to have a fresh one on hand. It uses lots of ice! We made mocktails for the kids which turned out to be super slushy and then when we added rum it turned into a nice smooth drink. Overall my review is great! It felt nice to have a fruity cocktail and pretend we could go on vacation!
If you are looking for an alternative drink and want to try a different fruit you can also try watermelon. Get the recipe here The recipe calls for frozen watermelon chunks but if you can find watermelon on sale at the grocery store I would recommend getting it fresh. This one can be made with rum or without.
